How to Report an IT Security Incident

An IT Security Incident is any event that has or is likely to result in the compromise of the confidentiality, availability, or integrity of Mount Sinai Health System information or a device that processes, stores, or transmits it.

An IT security incident may occur for a variety of reasons:

  • Compromised Endpoint (Malware, Virus, Ransomware)
  • Compromised Website
  • Compromised User Account

For any of these related incidents, please contact the helpdesk to report an Incident. 

For Lost / Stolen Devices

  • Report theft to Department of Security at (212) 241-5661.
  • If sensitive Health System information is involved, please contact the helpdesk to report an Incident
  • Examples: An MSHS owned IT device (laptop, phone, tablet etc) was lost or stolen. You are concern over your safety by an email or phone call you received.
